North Devon Robotics Challenge takes shape

A STEM-based, interactive learning challenge is gathering momentum and gearing up to take place soon.

The North Devon Robotics Challenge is a competition for teams of Year 7 age group students in the North Devon area.

The competition is organised by The Institution of Engineering and Technology Devon and Cornwall Local Network and Firefly Robotics Educational Charity, and supported by the North Devon Manufacturers Association.

The competition will be held at Petroc College, Barnstaple on Wednesday 20th of March, starting at 4:00. The competition will last about two hours in total.

There are four challenges this year, one of which is in two parts. Teams will score marks for each challenge, firstly according to how well their robots perform compared with the other teams’ robots, and secondly, by how well they present their work with the robots to judges.

NDMA is supporting this event and the winning team will be presented with a trophy at the prestigious North Devon Manufacturing Awards in October.
