Engineering Trust Celebrates Successful National Apprenticeship Week Across North Devon

The Engineering Trust has successfully concluded a highly engaging programme of events for National Apprenticeship Week 2026, partnering with four leading manufacturing and engineering companies across North Devon.

9–15 February 2026

More than 100 attendees took part in a series of onsite open evenings designed to showcase the breadth of engineering career opportunities available in the region.

The week began at SEA in Barnstaple, where current and former apprentices shared their career journeys, followed by an overview presentation and guided factory tour. Guests gained valuable insight into the company’s engineering operations and the pathways available through its apprenticeship programmes.

On Tuesday, the Trust visited TDK Lambda in Ilfracombe, where attendees were welcomed with a detailed company presentation and heard from a former apprentice about his progression within the business. A comprehensive tour of the manufacturing and test facilities provided a first-hand look at the company’s innovative production processes.

The mid-week event saw Krempel Industries in Bideford open its doors, with a particular focus on women in STEM. The engineering team delivered an informative presentation, followed by talks from a product engineer and HR business partner. Guests were then guided through the company’s advanced manufacturing facility and took part in a Q&A session.

The week concluded with a visit to CMTG in Torrington, where demonstrations of their specialist products were set up for attendees. Current and former apprentices led guests through production and testing areas, highlighting the hands-on experience and progression opportunities available within the company.
