North Devon announced as 12th World Surfing Reserve

North Devon has become the 12th location from around the globe to be selected as a World Surfing Reserve, an international designation that recognises and celebrates the area’s outstanding quality surfing beaches and brings together the local community and experts in actions to protect them.

The reserve is the first of its kind in the UK, joining famous locations from California, Australia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Portugal and Mexico. It’s another celebrated reason that people are drawn to the area to live and work and is home to its own surf-based manufacturing industry, with brands such as Dry Robe and Tiki, not to mention the many artisan board makers!
