SWMAS shares this quarter’s national report:
Key findings…
- Almost all respondents are struggling with supply chain price changes (98%), inflation (96%), and energy costs (94%)
- A quarter said their orders have increased as a result of production being brought back to the UK, but 22% of these businesses are unable to meet this demand due to current challenges
- 63% of the SMEs surveyed are calling for a government backed ‘UK Manufacturing Campaign’ and Business Support Grants to help them make the most of opportunities from reshoring
