The debut display by The Planetary Lab in Barnstaple’s Green Lanes shopping centre has been a busy place over the summer holidays with fully-booked sessions and visitors of all ages.
There’s No Place Like Home takes us on a journey around the solar system to discover the challenges of existing on neighbouring planets, before bringing us back down to terra firma with an understanding of what makes Earth so special.
It’s a hands-on, mini science-museum experience, featuring working exhibits that explain gravitational forces, atmospheric effects, and chemical properties, through simple experiments. Some cool technology, including infra-red imaging and VR headsets, along with hand-made displays and even a piece of real asteroid, make for an exciting and wholesome experience, and you don’t even have to be interested in science to enjoy it!
There’s No Place Like Home is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays until 19th September
