Alok Sharma, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has published a letter to those working in manufacturing.
The letter thanks all those who are working in manufacturing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It begins:
“At this unprecedented time for the UK I want to pay tribute to you for the work you are doing to keep the UK economy going.”
It goes on to explain the importance of maintaining supply chains and the steps government is taking to support manufacturers.
“Manufacturing is a critical part of our economy and I would like to be clear that there is no restriction on manufacturing continuing under the current rules.”
