Upcoming funded sustainability events available for individuals and businesses from the University of Plymouth’s Net Zero Exchange and Sustainable Earth Institute:

Skills Bootcamp: Future Climate Leaders

60-hour, blended course

Dates: 11th September – 18th December 2025

Future Climate Leaders is a 60-hour course for enterprises based in Devon and Cornwall. It is open to all sizes and sectors (private, public, third). This course is an exciting training opportunity for a member of staff who is passionate about sustainability and ready to lead change for sustainability within their organisation. The course is up to 90% funded (depending on company size) as a result of Skills Bootcamps funding*.

This course will be run through a blended approach (four in-person full days and ten online half days) where learners will explore hands-on environmental challenges, work through a science-based curriculum and develop a sustainable action plan to implement at work.

*This course is subject to confirmation of funding from Skills Bootcamp.

Net Zero and Climate Change: Getting Started as Individuals and Enterprises

Free, three-hour online workshop

Dates: 1st December 2025 or 24th February 2026

Are you a professional, policymaker, student, or simply someone who wants to find out more about why we need to reach net zero carbon emissions? Join us for a free, 3-hour online workshop providing an overview of greenhouse gas emissions and their impact, strategies for achieving net zero carbon emissions and interactive activities and quizzes to gain insights into how to reduce your carbon footprint!

This training is part of the Future is Green project, which is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council is responsible for managing projects funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund through the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme.
