FabLab Devon Exciting News and February Updates

The FablLab team has a lot planned for 2022!

Both FabLab Barnstaple and FabLab Exeter are open and actively looking for new members (and volunteers – see below).  If you are interested in seeing what we’re about or joining up as a member – do email us: [email protected] (Please state which site is closer to you)

We have a lot going on and coming up this year – we also have a new project in some parts of Devon – details below.

Both sites are open by booking only at the current time.  Each site has different opening hours which can be seen on our website at fablabdevon.org

We are also now offering a new On-Demand Making Service – so if you are looking for something to be made, we can make it for you without you having to join and learn how to use our machines.

Could you Volunteer with us?

Both FabLab Exeter and FabLab Barnstaple are looking to expand their volunteering teams.  Do you have any digital designing or machine fabrication skills?  Have you been a FabLab Devon Member in the past?

Various shift patterns are available – which could simply be a 3 hour slot every two weeks.  FabLab Devon Voulunteers receive machine time credits which can be used in the FabLab.

Interested?  Please do email us. FabLab Exeter has an induction session on Saturday 19th February so if you are interested in volunteering in FabLab Exeter – please do email ahead of then!

Are you based in Mid, West, North Devon or in Torridge?

If so, we have a new project starting soon in collaboration with Petroc College and other providers in Devon.  We are looking for adults in these areas of Devon who have innovative ideas, who would like to learn how to design and use our machines plus join FabLab Devon for FREE!  (This is a funded project and we are able to offer free workshops and membership).

Full details are being finalised in the next couple of weeks and we will be posting out further details in a newsletter and on our social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) as the project launches.

Watch out for our next Newsletter Update to find out more plus do make sure you follow our social media!

Did you know we offer Taster Sessions?

If you are considering membership but would like to have a go first, why not try one of our popular Taster Sessions.  Come in for an hour with a member or our team and we will take you through the basics of design and how our machines work.  Do email us for further details and please state which site is closer to you.
